Adopt in place
Existing infrastructure comes under management in place, without conversion to a private format.
Onboarding is rarely a fresh start. A newcomer inherits an estate, and the safe move is to bring it under management one slice at a time and leave the rest where it is. What you adopt keeps the platform’s own format, so upstream updates still apply and you can walk away without a rewrite. Every step before commitment is reversible, and an import re-emits the same spec it read, so a newcomer can put a narrow piece under management and back out with one native command if the output does not match reality.
