The live system is the truth

Truth lives in the running system, never a separate store you host.

A newcomer should read the state of the system from the platform itself. When the tool keeps an authoritative second copy, that store is one more thing to stand up, secure, and repair, and the day it disagrees with the cloud the newcomer inherits a reconciliation nobody wrote down. Ownership reads off a marker on the live resource, and a snapshot is a baseline for the diff that is allowed to go stale. A stale snapshot is inconvenient, and a stale source of truth is dangerous.
